Found this station covered over with asphalt! Someone helpfully discarded excess asphalt material which formed a one inch thick black pancake over the station. (Perhaps they were trying to seal in the nutrients.) I was driving a rental car and did not have my usual kit of tools but I was able to pry the offending asphalt off with my fingertips and sweep away the ant bed underneath that to reveal that the station was intact.

Our first benchmark! Looked for this last summer - much easier to find without the summer foliage. Nuffie, Rabbit & Corry

This was pretty easy. It has a small witness stake and is just over the guard rail from the road. This station was established using GPS.
