In very nice shiny shape on this warm spring day. The cover for it has a broken hinge but can still be put into place carefully over it, where it is held by gravity.

Found in good condition. Didn't notice whether that bug was still there or not, however there was a larger one (in better condition) just at the edge of the lid on the outside. Would have gotten a picture had we known that this one required "bug detection" also.

DESCRIBED BY PIMA COUNTY ARIZONA 1999 (MM) THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 3 MI (4.8 KM) SOUTH AND 15 MI (24.1 KM) WEST OF DOWNTOWN TUCSON, 0.25 MI (0.40 KM) NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 86 (AJO HIGHWAY) AND SANDARIO RD. OWNERSHIP--ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 86 AND SANDARIO RD, GO NORTH FOR 0.25 MI (0.40 KM) ON SANDARIO ROAD TO THE STATION ON RIGHT. LOCATED ABOUT 75 FT (22.9 M) EAST FROM THE CENTERLINE OF SANDARIO RD AND 51 FT (15.5 M) NORTH FROM A POWER POLE AT A POWERLINE INTERSECTION. NOTE--ROD DRIVEN TO REFUSAL.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by GPS observations and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in September 1999.
  • The orthometric height was determined by GPS observations and a high-resolution geoid model.
  • The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
