Like Black Jeep said, tank torn down prior to construction of the new fire station.

The water tank was torn down in late 2012...

Hard to miss this benchmark. Saw it while hunting for a few good men cache.

Spotted driving thru Melbourne.

Recovered as described at listed location except than tank is now painted light blue and has dark blue lettering that says MELBOURNE WATER SYSTEM and a graphic of a sailboat repeated around the mid section of the tank.

Spotted this while in the area caching!

:) my first

Found on a 4th of July caching trip to Cocoa with magtfplanner and FLcrafters

Spotted with InxtricablFate and FlCrafters on our way to find "A Few Good Men" in Melbourne. The tank looked to new to be in the benchmark system on the geocaching site but I took a picture anyway on the off chance that it might be. Guess I was thrown off by the new paint job on the tower. Definitely the same tower in the description for the benchmark though .

My first benchmark...gotta start somewhere and this one is the closest to my house...also kinda hard to not find!

Forgot to Log this benchmark when my family and I did A Few Good Men Multi. As Rich has stated unfortunately this is gone now.

Located this benchmark while spending the day caching with Mom. I Love Florida!

photoWelcome to Melbourne, FL

Drove by today at lunch.

Thought I'd start my benchmark hunting with an easy one. :)

Melbourne Water Tank - no longer matches the datasheet description as far as markings, but it's still one big water tank.

At first we couldn't see the forest for the trees. It was only after coming home and reading the benchmark info page that we realized that we had indeed recovered this one.

Had to replace A FEW GOOD MEN cache this morning, and there was this benchmark waiting to be found again. It was big and bathed in the early morning sunshine. I'll have to come back to look for the other marks associated with this tank.

Still standing, I'll drink to that (water, that is).

Hard to miss this one!

Nice area. Tank appears to have been repainted not to long ago. Now has blue writing on it.

Easy Find.

Yep, easy to find and pretty, too!

Looking North from near the RM.

Found it, pretty easy.

One of the pretiest water towers around. Since we have no hills in Florida, we get all our water pressure from these towers. Reservoirs would be usless here.
