Spotted this one after climbing up to the top of the monument. It was pretty unexpected to see a benchmark up here, but glad to be able to claim it.

Discovered at the top of the tower stairs with FLPirate and Pelican Ridge.. In very good shape. -- The Wench

Spied this whilst visiting this monument at the historic battle site.
Accompanied by The Wench and our geo friends from Germany.
In great shape.

GoodLook and I visited this monument so we could grab information for the virtual and in doing so we saw this benchmark.

A fairly quick visit to this historic site today due to our tight time frames, but whilst micaparamedic and I were collecting information for the virtual, we also spied this benchmark.

Visiting for the NPS stamp and the virtual.

We found this benchmark during a round trip through this part of the US. We were lured to many great places and discovered some extraordinary places that would have been hidden from us without geocaching. Many thanks to all the owners and greetings from Southern Lower Saxony in Germany.

(#BM13) Benchmark CHALMETTE MONUMENT (AT1363)
Hard to believe that it's been FOUR YEARS since I found my last benchmark. How the time flies when you're busy with other stuff. The family and I were visiting New Orleans for the first time. We wanted to see some sites of historical significance, so we came here. At first glance, I had no idea people could enter the monument. But Drew disappeared inside, so I followed. Nice flight of steps. We were all a little bit winded by the time we reached the top. I found this benchmark disk quite by accident. We were in the process of leaving when I looked down and saw it. Snagged a quick pic and headed off to learn some more about New Orleans history. Managed to miss the benchmark at the base of the monument, though. Oh well, there's always next time. BoP-Killeen, TX

If this one goes missing we've got problems...

Monument is easily still here and will most likely not go anywhere.
