DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1987 4.1 KM (2.55 MI) SOUTH FROM SIMONTON. 4.15 KM (2.58 MI) SOUTH ALONG FM ROAD 1489 FROM THE JUNCTION OF FM ROAD 1093 IN SIMONTON, 0.16 KM (0.1 MI) NORTH OF THE NORTH END OF A BRIDGE OVER THE BRAZOS RIVER, 23.7 METERS (78.0 FT) EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD, 16.9 METERS (55.5 FT) EAST OF THE NORTH END OF A GUARD RAIL, 10.9 METERS (36.0 FT) SOUTH OF THE SOUTH POST OF A WIRE GATE, 2.1 METERS (7.0 FT) SOUTHEAST OF A POWER POLE, 0.6 METER (2.0 FT) WEST OF A FENCE. NOTE--ACCESS TO DATUM POINT IS HAD THROUGH A 5-INCH LOGO CAP. THE MARK IS 0.3 METERS N FROM A WITNESS POST THE MARK IS 1.2 M BELOW THE ROAD.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
