DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1973 1.75 MI W FROM SEALY. 1.75 MILES WEST ALONG THE MISSOURI-KANSAS-TEXAS RAILROAD FROM THE CROSSING OF STATE HIGHWAY 36 AT SEALY, AT THE CROSSING OF FARM ROAD 2187, 47.6 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST RAIL, 70 1/2 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 1 1/2 FEET SOUTHWEST OF POWER POLE NO. 24 WITH 2 GUY WIRES, 1.4 FEET NORTHWEST OF A FENCE, 1.5 FEET NORTH OF A FENCE CORNER POST, 1.8 NORTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, 60.8 FEET EAST OF THE SOUTHEAST END OF A 36-INCH CONCRETE PIPE CULVERT, A DISK ON THE TOP OF A 5/8-INCH COPPER COATED ROD DRIVEN TO GRADUAL REFUSAL AT A DEPTH OF 13 FEET. THE UPPER PORTION OF THE ROD IS ENCASED IN A CONCRETE POST THAT PROJECTS 0.3 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
