DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 7.05 MI W FROM SCHULENBURG. TO REACH FROM THE CROSSING OF U.S. HIGHWAY NO.90 AND U.S. HIGHWAY NO.77 AT SCHULENBURG, PROCEED 7.05 MILES WESTERLY ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY NO. 90 TO A CONCRETE CULVERT AND SITE OF BENCH MARK. BENCH MARK IS SET HORIZONTALLY IN THE TOP OF THE NORTH HEADWALL OF AN 8X16 FOOT DOUBLE CONCRETE BOX CULVERT UNDER THE HIGHWAY. IT IS 0.25 MILE WEST OF THE TEXAS AND NEW ORLEANS (SOUTHERN PACIFIC) RAILROAD STATION AT ENGLE, 35.8 FEET WEST OF THE EAST END OF THE HEADWALL, 19.5 FEET EAST OF THE WEST END OF THE HEADWALL, 22.5 FEET NORTH OF AND ABOUT 1.5 FOOT BELOW THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY.

  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
