DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1959 7.4 MI E FROM JOLIET. 7.4 MILES EAST OF JOLIET, CALDWELL COUNTY. THIS BENCH MARK MAY BE REACHED FROM THE GRADE SCHOOL BY GOING 0.5 MILE NORTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 29, TURN RIGHT AND GO 1.4 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG A GRADED DIRT ROAD, TURN RIGHT AND GO 0.2 MILE SOUTH, TURN LEFT AND GO 2.8 MILES NORTHEAST TO THE INTERSECTION OF A PAVED ROAD, AND TURN RIGHT AND GO 2.5 MILES SOUTH ALONG THE PAVED ROAD. IT IS AT A CURVE IN THE ROAD, AT A LARGE PIPE CULVERT, IN THE TOP OF THE NORTH END OF THE EAST CONCRETE HEADWALL, 10 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD, AND LEVEL WITH THE ROAD. NOTE-- THE MARK IS 190 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NORTH-NORTHWEST EDGE OF A LONE TREE SOUTHWEST OF THE ROAD, 155 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH TIP OF GRASS BETWEEN ROADS TO THE SOUTH AND SOUTH-SOUTHEAST, AND 77 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY AT A CURVE.

  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
