ABOUT 7.05 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE MISSOURI, KANSAS AND TEXAS RAILROAD FROM THE CROSSING WITH STATE HIGHWAY 95 AT SMITHVILLE, 0.2 MILES NORTHWEST OF THE CROSSING WITH FARM ROAD 2571, 0.1 MILES SOUTHEAST OF TRESTLE 962.0, 19.7 FEET NORTHWEST OF 4TH TELEPHONE POLE AND SOUTHEAST MILEPOST 962, 48.0 NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST RAIL, 5.0 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A T-FENCE CORNER POST, 1.7 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE RAILROAD R. O. W. FENCE, NOTE-- POST AND DISK LEANING SLIGHTLY TO THE WEST AND LOOKED AS THOUGH IT WAS SET THIS WAY. 1.1 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A METAL WITNESS POST ABOUT 4 1/2 FEET BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE TRACK, AND THE DISK IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 14-IN.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991. WARNING-Repeat measurements at this control monument indicate possible vertical movement.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
