ABOUT 0.25 MILES EAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 71 FROM A GULF SERVICE STATION AND STORE AT GARFIELD, 119 YARDS (P) NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE NORTH LANE OF THE HIGHWAY, 193.0 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE OLD HIGHWAY, 45.0 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE CALDWELL LANE WHICH IS A PAVED ROAD, 24.0 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF A GATE IN CHAIN LINK FENCE AROUND A WATER TOWER, 8.5 FEET EAST OF THE NORTHEAST LEG OF WATER TOWER, 3.0 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A PIPE CORNER POST, 2.5 FEET EAST OF A CHAIN LINK FENCE, 0.85 MILES EAST OF THE BENCH MARK B 1225, 0.6 FEET WEST OF A METAL WITNESS POST, ABOUT 1.0 FEET BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE CALDWELL LANE AND IS A DISK ON TOP OF A 4-FEET LENGTH OF COPPER COATED STEEL ROD FLUSH WITH THE GROUND AND FASTENED TO A BASE PLATE. Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
