DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 1.4 MI NW FROM ARLINGTON. AT PULLEY AIRPORT, TARRANT COUNTY, 167 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF RANDOL MILL STREET, 173 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE WEST RUNWAY, 43 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE WEST HANGAR, AT THE EAST EDGE OF A PRIVATE DRIVEWAY, 1 FOOT EAST OF A FENCE, AND 3 FEET NORTH OF A WHITE WOODEN WITNESS POST. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED L 183 1952 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.3 FOOT ABOVE GROUND. NOTE-- THE AIRPORT IS GONE AND THE AREA IS NOW A BUSINESS DISTRICT AND DWELLING HOUSES. THERE HAS BEEN NEW STREETS BUILT WHICH MAKES MOST OF THE DISTANCES OBSOLETE IN THE ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
