Discovered at Airport

Went to the airport today to visit a couple benchmarks. After getting the one to the South, I headed for this one. Pulled in and made the quick spot and snapped some pics.

Thanks!

This is at DFW aiport, between Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. I chose this site because it is accessible to the public (although the airport security came to check out what we were doing) and it has a very accurate location listed....5 places to the right of the decimal point for seconds on the original NGS Datasheet available from the NGS website, http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/ds_radius.prl, N32 53 07.97060; W097 00 57.58835. This accuracy was possible because the coordinates were adjusted in 1994 by the National Geodetic Survey using gps. It allowed us to determine that our gps receiver was right on within the limits of number of decimal points in its display. We were afraid that we might have trouble finding the benchmark site, but the only hard part is finding the right road. As you can see from the picture, it is anything but inconspicuous.
