DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1951 2.2 MI NW FROM CORTARO. 2.3 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE STATE HIGHWAY 84 AND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD FROM THE GENERAL STORE AND POST OFFICE AT CORTARO, 0.1 MILE SOUTHEAST OF THE RAILROAD STATION SIGN AT SABINO, AT RAILROAD MILEAGE 970.05, IN TOP OF THE APPROXIMATE CENTER OF THE NORTHEAST HEADWALL OF A DOUBLE BOX-TYPE CONCRETE HIGHWAY CULVERT, 70.8 FEET WEST OF TELEGRAPH POLE H 7, 16 1/2 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE HIGHWAY CENTERLINE, AND ABOUT 1/2 FOOT HIGHER THAN THE HIGHWAY IN ELEVATION.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
