Found in good shape just past the pullout for the Shooting Range at TMP.

Yep, it's there. Casher

Cattleguard and witness post no longer present. Fence ends 13 meters SSE of marker. Remnants of a cement structure just west of the marker. About 40 meters SSE from northbound turn into shooting range off of Kinney Road.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1951 8.8 MI W FROM TUCSON. 6.2 MILES WEST OF THE U. S. VETERANS HOSPITAL, TUCSON, ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 86 (AJO-TUCSON), THENCE 2.6 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG KINNEY ROAD, AT THE SOUTH ENTRANCE TO THE TUCSON MOUNTAIN RECREATIONAL PARK, AT A CATTLE GUARD, 36 1/2 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 28.4 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST END OF THE CATTLE GUARD, 3.2 FEET NORTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, 1.7 FEET NORTHWEST OF A WIRE FENCE, AND ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE ROAD, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.5 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
