CLIMB EAST ABOUT 200 YARDS TO THE STATION. MARKED BY A STANDARD BRONZE DISK. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1, A STANDARD BRONZE REFERENCE DISK, IS 15.460 METERS (50.72 FEET) FROM STATION S 19 DEG 18 MIN W. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2, A STANDARD BRONZE REFERENCE DISK IS 10.920 METERS (35.83 FEET) FROM STATION S 73 DEG 15 MIN E. THE AZIMUTH MARK, A STANDARD BRONZE DISK IS ON SLOPE OF KNOLL, 300 YARDS FROM STATION S 38 DEG 54 MIN 42 SEC W.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1947 (DHK) STATION AND ALL MARKS FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION AND AS DESCRIBED, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE AZIMUTH MARK WHICH WAS NOT FOUND, AND A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE WAS FOUND IN THE DISTANCE OF THE REFERENCE MARKS. A NEW AZIMUTH MARK WAS SET. THE CORRECT MEASUREMENTS FOR REFERENCE MARKS ARE FOUND BELOW. STATION LOCATED ABOUT 9 MILES AIRLINE NORTHEAST OF TUCSON, 50 FEET SOUTHWEST OF AND 2 FEET LOWER THAN HIGHEST PART OF RIDGE, 10 FEET NORTH-NORTHWEST OF WHITE WITNESS POST, AS DESCRIBED, PROJECTS 6 INCHES, AND STAMPED--SAHUARO 1935. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS APPROXIMATELY 3 FEET LOWER THAN STATION MARK, PROJECTS 12 INCHES, AND STAMPED--SAHUARO NO 1 1935. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS APPROXIMATELY 1 FOOT LOWER THAN STATION, PROJECTS 2 INCHES, AND STAMPED--SAHUARO NO 2 1935. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE INTERSECTION OF SPEEDWAY AND STONE AVENUE IN TUCSON TRAVEL EAST ALONG SPEEDWAY FOR 6.5 MILES TO WILMOT STREET. TURN LEFT AND TRAVEL NORTH FOR 0.4 MILE. BEAR RIGHT ON TANQUE ROAD FOR 1.2 MILES TO SABINO CANYON ROAD. TURN LEFT FOR 1.5 MILES TO RIVER ROAD. TURN LEFT ON RIVER ROAD AND TRAVEL WEST FOR 0.8 MILE TO RIVER HILLS DRIVE. TURN RIGHT FOR 0.4 MILE TO THE CREST OF A LOW RIDGE. TURN LEFT ON DIRT ROAD FOR 0.25 MILE UP A STEEP GRADE TO A STUCCO HOUSE AND END OF TRUCK TRAVEL. PACK NORTH TO THE TOP OF THE HILL AND STATION.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in August 1993.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
