Cross is still barely visible south of the canal and west of the "road".

If this is one of the cross benchmarks known in this area, it is more than likely destroyed. The CAP canal runs right through where this benchmark is located.

DESCRIBED BY DEFENSE MAP AGENCY 1966 T-7-S. R-5-E. IN SECTION 25 NEAR THE NORTHEAST CORNER. THE STATION MARK IS A CORPS OF ENGINEERS, U.S. ARMY DISK CENTERED IN THE TOP OF A ROUND CONCRETE POST 8 INCHES IN DIAMETER PROJECTING 0.2 FOOT ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. THE STATION MARK IS STAMPED--AC 50 1966 ARMY MAP SERVICE. THE STATION MARK IS LOCATED 84 FEET WEST OF THE NORTH-NORTHEAST SOUTH-SOUTHWEST ROAD. 119 FEET WEST OF THE ASSUMED NORTH-SOUTH SECTION LINE. 200 FEET SOUTH OF THE ASSUMED EAST-WEST SECTION LINE. 80 FEET SOUTH OF THE EAST-WEST FENCE. TO REACH FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS 84 AND 93 IN CASA GRANDE, ARIZONA GO SOUTHEAST ON 84 AND 93 FOR 0.25 MILES TO CROSS STREET. TURN RIGHT ON FLORENCE STREET AND GO SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH ON FLORENCE AND THEN CHUICHU ROAD FOR 5.8 MILES TO CROSSROAD. TURN RIGHT AND GO FOR 1.0 MILES ON SHEDD ROAD TO GATE IN FENCE. TURN LEFT THRU GATE TO THE STATION SITE.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in August 1993.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
