Recovered in good condition. Surface of the disk has been scratched a fair amount but stamping is still legible.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1971 1.7 MI E FROM DATELAND. 0.2 MILE SOUTH FROM THE POST OFFICE IN DATELAND TO A T-INTERSECTION, THENCE EAST FOR 1.7 MILES, 2 POLES SOUTHWEST OF MILEPOST 808, 41 FEET SOUTH OF A TELEPHONE POLE, 6 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH RAIL, CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE EAST ABUTMENT OF A CONCRETE CULVERT UNDER THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD. NOTE-- (Z 321 WAS USED FOR AN AZIMUTH MARK FOR TRIANGULATION STATION CONTROL 1971).

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
