Logged as didn't find because not sure what I found. Attached a pic of concrete closely matching the description of benchmark but would like someone with more experience to comment on the finding. Attached a picture and coord of the concrete.

DESCRIBED BY GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1973 (WRN) THE STATION IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 3.6 MILES SOUTH OF DOUGLASVILLE, 10.0 MILES SOUTHWEST OF AUSTELL, AND 10.4 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF VILLA RICA. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE INTERSECTION OF STATE ROUTE 92 AND INTERSTATE 20, APPROXIMATELY 1.9 MILES EAST OF DOUGLASVILLE, GO WEST ON INTERSTATE 20 FOR 1.75 MILES TO COUNTY ROAD 90858 (CHAPEL HILL ROAD) EXIT ON TO CHAPEL HILL ROAD, TURN LEFT AND GO SOUTH FOR 3.05 MILES TO COUNTY ROAD 92599 (CENTRAL CHURCH ROAD). TURN RIGHT AND PROCEED WEST FOR 0.55 MILE TO THE AZIMUTH MARK ON THE RIGHT. CONTINUE ON 92599 (CENTRAL CHURCH ROAD) FOR 0.85 MILE TO THE INTERSECTION OF CENTRAL CHURCH ROAD AND REYNOLDS ROAD, TURN RIGHT ON REYNOLDS ROAD AND PROCEED NORTH FOR 0.10 MILE TO THE CROSSING OF GEORGIA POWER LINES, TURN LEFT AND PROCEED UP THE GEORGIA POWER RIGHT OF WAY APPROXIMATELY 0.3 MILE TO THE TOP OF A HILL AND TWO TOWERS. THE STATION IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED 048-206, SET IN A 10 INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. THE UNDERGROUND MARK IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED 048-206, SET IN AN IRREGULAR MASS OF CONCRETE 0.61 METERS BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 4.5 FEET SOUTH OF A WITNESS POST, 73.0 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST LEG OF THE NORTHERNMOST TOWER, AND 104 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST LEG OF THE SOUTHERNMOST TOWER. THE AZIMUTH MARK IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED 048-206 AZI, SET IN A 10 INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE GROUND. IT IS LOCATED BETWEEN TWO POWER LINE TOWERS, 143 FEET EAST OF THE NORTHEAST LEG OF THE WESTERNMOST TOWER, 160 FEET WEST OF THE NORTHWEST LEG OF THE EASTERNMOST TOWER, AND 78.5 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF CENTRAL CHURCH ROAD.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in September 1997.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
