DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1960 3.3 MI N FROM DENTON. 3.3 MILES NORTH OF THE COURTHOUSE IN DENTON, AND ABOUT 0.1 MILE WEST OF F.M. ROAD NO.2164, AT THE SITE OF THE OLD COLLEGE AIRPORT, NOW A PASTURE AND AN OLD METAL BUILDING USED FOR A RANCH BUILDING. THE MARK IS 21 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE OLD RED BARN, AN OLD HANGAR, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED M 914 1946 IN A CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS ABOUT 2 INCHES. IT IS AT THE OPPOSITE CORNER OF THE BUILDING FROM B.M.A 950.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
