DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1960 1.1 MI E FROM JUSTIN. 1.1 MILES EAST OF JUSTIN, DENTON COUNTY. THIS BENCH MARK MAY BE REACHED FROM THE GULF, COLORADO AND SANTA FE RAILWAY STATION BY GOING ONE BLOCK NORTH, THENCE 1.1 MILES EAST ALONG A ROAD. IT IS 0.1 MILE SOUTH OF A STEEL BRIDGE, AT A CURVE IN THE ROAD, 28.5 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD, 24 FEET NORTH OF A FENCE CORNER, 9.3 FEET NORTH OF A TELEPHONE POLE, 1 FOOT SOUTH OF A WHITE WITNESS POST, AND LEVEL WITH THE ROAD. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED M 945 1946 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A POST PROJECTING 3 INCHES ABOVE GROUND. NOTE-- THE SITE OF THIS MARK IS NOW WITHIN THE AREA OF MAINTENANCE.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
