I found it and my daughter wanted to know why we had to pay since we disturbed it. Well there was a discussion of the language we speak and how words can be well, "disturbing". We had a great day!

Like many of the previous finders, came upon this one while out looking for GCVAKX. My first benchmark. I have to say, I much prefer caches, and the aforementioned GCVAKX is a good example of why. THANKS to lost02 for the heads-up.

First benchmark find. Not what I expected, thought it would be bigger. Still in great shape.

17:01:55)--- out on the hunt for bm today and when i clicked on this one, it showed a cache near by. good time to get them both. the other bm i looked for were unrecoverable in this area.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 0.5 MI N FROM GILBERT. 0.5 MI NORTH ON S.P. RY. IN THE TOP OF THE CONCRETE HEADWALL OF CULVERT NO. 926-C, 21 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE TRACK.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
