Doing benchmarks for a challenge cache. Not an easy find, in decent shape. Had to use a picture by a previous logger to turn it into a "Picture This" cache, and then I found it.

This mark was expertly found by the previous logger. You can't tell it from this site, but just over a month after AZCachemeister's report to NGS, a reporter from USPSQD logged it there as not found. Interestingly, or at least mysteriously, that reporter had nothing to say about RM1 or the primary mark.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in November 1993.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
