Recovered. Please remember this benchmark is in the middle area between the northbound and southbound lanes of I-10. Proper care should be taken. A police officer did stop me as I was leaving. I wasn't told I was doing anything illegal after explaining what I was doing but I also was wearing a white hard hat and an orange safety vest. Pictures accurate as to current condition.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in August 1993.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
