Still good. Our HH2 reading was (NAD 83) 33 31 26.0 (N), 111 57 37.3 (W). This is about 59 feet east of the scaled coordinates. The previous logger's reading is about 30 feet WSW of the scaled coordinates. These variations may be due partly to the presence of Camelback Mountain, whose base is less than a quarter-mile to the south, and partly to the dense growth of ornamental planting immediately north of the mark.

Found it easily with the street directions and the witnes post. However, the scaled GPS coordinates were off by 1.7 miles. I found it at 33 31.433N 111 57.623W. Took some pictures which I may upload later.

This is in really good shape. I took pictures of disk & sign and will upload within the next few days. How cool to see these!

This was fairly easy to find. We just love those witness posts. Pictures to follow when we get access to a scanner.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
