Came at it from the east and didn't hop the fence. But was able to get a nice shot. I have to agree with previous post that it is much easier when they have the sign right next to it.

I do much prefer these benchmarks with large signs announcing their whereabouts. Fence in the way, but able to get pretty close.

Recovered. Could not get on top of the mark but with an extended reach from the fence could get within a few feet. Raining when I recovered but pictures are accurate. Logging for Day 31 of Trifecta Challenge along with Geocache GCH1GA and Waymark (submitted) WM7YGW

A wide view of the general area, looking north. How could I have missed that?

The area '3 ft west of the right-of-way fence' is heavily planted with shrubbery, with lots of dead leaves and other debris pile up under them. I poked around for about a half-hour, but this one is going to take an entire landscaping crew.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in November 1993.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
