FOUND DONEY SURVEY MARK & RM #1 & RM #2 IN GOOD SHAPE.
ALSO FOUND DONEY AZIMUTH - "LORE RESET" WHICH "DOUBLES" AS ITS OWN TRI MARK
NOTE - Evan after re-calibrating my GPS receiver (twice), the datasheet given true course, to both RM #1 & RM #2, was off by over 14 degrees. Also Note - I had my GPS set to true north & not magnetic north.

Recovered as described, in good condition. The Station mark and both RMs are in good condition.

Recovered DONEY, RM1 and RM2 in good condition. The surface of the station has been marred somewhat by vandals as shown in the photograph.

DESCRIBED BY ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1976 (TT) THE STATION IS ABOUT 0.7 MILES NORTH OF FLORENCE JUNCTION AND U.S. HIGHWAY 60-80-89 ON THE HIGHEST PART OF A HILL. THE STATION IS AN ADOT HIGHWAY DIVISION DISK STAMPED DONEY P AND M G.S. 1975 AND IS EPOXIED IN A DRILL HOLE IN A ROCK OUTCROP. THE STATION IS LOCATED ON HIGHEST PART OF A LOW HILL ABOUT 800 FEET EAST OF AN OLD PAVED ROAD. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS AN ADOT HIGHWAY DIVISION DISK STAMPED RM 1 1975 AND IS EPOXIED IN A ROCK OUTCROP. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS AN ADOT HIGHWAY DIVISION DISK STAMPED RM 2, 1975 AND IS EPOXIED IN A ROCK OUTCROP. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 60 AND 80-89 AT FLORENCE JUNCTION, GO NORTHWEST ON U.S. 60 FOR 0.25 MILES TO AN OLD PAVED ROAD ON THE RIGHT (NORTH). FOLLOW OLD PAVED ROAD FOR 0.45 MILES TO THE STATION ON THE RIGHT (EAST) ABOUT 800 FEET EAST OF ROAD ON A LOW HILL. ABOUT A 5 MINUTE PACK. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 1.5 METERS.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in August 1993.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
