In the area to find "Roadies Don't Mind" (GCKCK7) and decided to find this Benchmark really quick.

Found what appears to be a sisteer benchark to this one. It is directly across the street to the west. Has the markings Elev 1209.89. GPS cords. 33.21.417N 111.50.524W.

Found it by accident while on the hunt for Geocache (Roadies Don't Mind - GCKCK7).

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1994 3.3 KM (2.05 MI) SOUTHERLY ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 87 (ARIZONA AVENUE) FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 60 IN MESA, NEAR THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE CONCRETE FOOTING FOR A HIGHLINE TOWER, 16.7 M (54.8 FT) EAST OF THE CENTER OF THE NORTHBOUND LANES OF THE HIGHWAY, 7.9 M (25.9 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHWEST LEG OF A HIGHLINE TOWER, 0.4 M (1.3 FT) ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE HIGHWAY AND THE GROUND SURFACE, AND 0.3 M (1.0 FT) SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST FACE OF THE TOWER.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in August 1994.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
