Recovered as described, in good condition. Considering that the location is SCALED, it's amazing that the co-ordinates are THAT CLOSE to the GPS readings. Another interesting side-note is this is the lowest number in the DV series.

A wider view of the general area, looking south from the south edge of the road.

The disk, monument, and witness post are in good condition. The driveway measurement was right on, but there was no power pole. The longitude seemed off - 112 00.000 is specified, but I got a reading of 00.039. I was off the published latitude by .004 sec.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
