Unable to find any sign of the mark. The previous abutment was destroyed when the second track was added in the past couple years, so the mark is assumed destroyed.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1967 2.8 MI SE FROM MARICOPA. ABOUT 0.1 MILE NORTH ALONG A PAVED ROAD FROM THE POST OFFICE AT MARICOPA, THENCE 2.7 MILES EAST ALONG THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD, IN S 36, T 5 S, R 3 E, 0.15 MILE SOUTHEAST OF THE CROSSING OF THE RAILROAD AND A ROAD, 6 1/2 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST RAIL OF THE MAIN TRACK, SET IN THE TOP OF THE NORTHEAST END OF THE SOUTHEAST CONCRETE ABUTMENT OF RAILROAD BRIDGE NUMBER 900.50, AND ABOUT 1 1/2 FEET BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE TRACKS.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
