DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 (JLC) THE STATION IS LOCATED 3.75 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CHICKAMAUGA, 1 MILE NORTH OF ROCK SPRING, 0.3 MILE EAST OF U.S. HIGHWAY 27 AND ON PROPERTY OWNED BY MR. JIM LASSETTER. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 27 AND STATE ROUTE 95 AT THE SMALL COMMUNITY OF ROCK SPRING, GO NORTH ON HIGHWAY 27 FOR 1.1 MILES TO A CROSS ROAD AND BENCH MARK H 119 ON THE LEFT. TURN RIGHT AND GO EAST FOR 0.05 MILE TO A T-ROAD. TURN LEFT AND GO NORTH FOR 0.05 MILE TO A DRIVEWAY ON THE RIGHT. TURN RIGHT AND GO EAST ON THE DRIVEWAY, PASSING ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF MR. LASSETTERS HOUSE, FOR 0.05 MILE TO A GATE. PASS THROUGH GATE AND CONTINUE EAST FOR 0.05 MILE TO A GATE. PASS THROUGH GATE AND FOLLOW TRACK ROAD AROUND NORTH AND EAST SIDE OF A BARN FOR 0.05 MILE TO A SHED. TURN LEFT, PASSING ALONG SOUTH SIDE OF THE SHED, AND GO EAST ON A TRACK ROAD FOR 0.15 MILE TO A DIM Y-FORK AND A FENCE. TURN LEFT AND GO NORTH ON THE TRACK ROAD ALONG WEST SIDE OF THE FENCE FOR 0.1 MILE TO THE TOP OF A SMALL HILL AND THE STATION IN A CLEARED PASTURE AREA. THE STATION MARKS ARE STANDARD DISKS STAMPED LASSETTER 1972. THE SURFACE DISK IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 12-INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH IS 14 INCHES BELOW THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS 82 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A METAL WITNESS POST AND 50 FEET WEST OF THE FENCE. THE UNDERGROUND DISK IS SET IN THE TOP OF AN IRREGULAR MASS OF CONCRETE, 34 INCHES BELOW THE GROUND SURFACE. REFERENCE MARK 1, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED LASSETTER NO 1 1972, IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 12-INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 5 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS 2.6 FEET WEST OF THE FENCE AND 2 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE METAL WITNESS POST. REFERENCE MARK 2, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED LASSETTER NO 2 1972, IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 12-INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 4 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS 7.4 FEET NORTHWEST OF A 10-INCH OAK TREE AND 3.9 FEET WEST OF THE FENCE. BENCH MARK H 119, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED H 119 1934, IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 4-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 5 INCHES. IT IS 24 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF THE ROAD, 19.5 FEET WEST OF THE WEST RAIL OF THE RAILROAD TRACK, 5 FEET WEST OF A METAL WITNESS POST AND 2.4 FEET EAST-NORTHEAST OF A TELEPHONE POLE. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 30.7 METERS.

JIM LASSETTER, 0.35 MILE EAST-NORTH-EAST OF BENCH MARK H 119, ABOUT 0.3 MILE EAST-NORTHEAST OF MR. LASSETTERS HOUSE, ON TOP OF A SMALL HILL IN A PASTURE, 82 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A METAL WITNESS POST, 80.29 FEET SOUTHWEST OF RM 1, 78.75 FEET NORTHWEST OF RM 2, 50 FEET WEST OF A FENCE LINE AND ABOUT 34 INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND SET IN THE TOP OF CONCRETE.
