As stated, just off of Mclane, although coordinates off by 60 feet the pictures took me right to it.

easy find thanks for the picture. walked by this one many times.

Recovered in good condition as described with the following update to the description – the Mark is located 2.5 feet North of a Witness Post and 3.5 feet West of a 4.8 foot high bolder. Handheld coordinates:
N 34° 15.141 W 111° 19.640 (NAD 83).

NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. 2.7 KM (1.7 MI) NORTH ALONG MCLANE ROAD FROM MAIN STREET IN PAYSON, WHICH IS THE OLD HIGHWAY, IN TOP OF AND ON THE WEST SIDE OF A GRANITE KNOLL, 0.1 KM (0.05 MI) SOUTH OF A POWER LINE CROSSING, 18.2 METERS (60 FT) EAST OF THE CENTER OF THE OLD HIGHWAY, 12.8 METERS (42 FT) NORTH-NORTHEAST OF A FORKED 18-INCH PINE TREE. THE MARK IS 1.0 METERS N FROM A WITNESS POST. THE MARK IS 1.0 M ABOVE THE OLD HIGHWAY.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991. WARNING-Repeat measurements at this control monument indicate possible vertical movement.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
