DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1924 (WM) ABOUT 7 MILES WEST AND 4 MILES NORTH OF AGUILA IN THE OPEN GREASEWOOD AND MESQUITE FLATS. ABOUT 3 MILES WEST OF FENCE, 2 MILES EAST OF INITIAL MONUMENT AND 90 YARDS NORTH OF THE MARICOPA-YAVAPAI COUNTY LINE. MARKED BY STANDARD BRONZE DISKS.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1955 (LFW) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. A REVISED DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS-- TO REACH FROM THE CHEVRON SERVICE STATION NEAR THE CENTER OF AGUILA, GO NORTH ON GRADED ROAD FOR 4.0 MILES TO A ROAD LEFT, TURN LEFT (WEST) AND FOLLOW MAIN TRAVELLED ROAD 4.0 MILES TO A GATE ON LEFT. THIS IS THE WEST GATE OF TWO. PASS THROUGH GATE AND CONTINUE 1.1 MILES TO A DIRT TANK AND CORRAL, CONTINUE WEST AROUND SOUTH SIDE OF CORRAL FOR 1.4 MILES TO A RANCH, WINDMILL AND CORRAL, BEAR RIGHT AROUND THE NORTH SIDE OF THE CORRAL FOR 0.15 MILE TO A GATE, PASS THROUGH THE GATE AND GO 0.05 MILE TO A FORK, TAKE THE RIGHT FORK FOR 0.2 MILE TO THE STATION ON THE LEFT. THE STATION IS 135 FEET SOUTH OF THE ROAD AND 255 FEET NORTH OF A MARICOPA-YAVAPAI COUNTY LINE MONUMENT. THE MARK IS A STANDARD DISK, NOT STAMPED, IN THE TOP OF A 12 INCH SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT PROJECTING 0.2 FT.

STATION IS 145 FEET SOUTH OF ROAD. TRUCK CAN BE DRIVEN TO STATION.

RECOVERY NOTE BY ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1986 (BK) THE UNSTAMPED STATION MARK WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. A NEW ROUTE TO THE STATION FOLLOWS. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE POST OFFICE IN AGUILA TRAVEL WEST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 60 FOR 0.35 MILE TO EAGLE EYE ROAD. TURN RIGHT AND TRAVEL NORTH FOR 0.4 MILE TO A DIRT CROSS ROAD. TURN LEFT AND TRAVEL WEST FOR 6.55 MILES TO A FORK. TAKE THE RIGHT FORK NORTH AROUND A CORRAL TO A GATE. PASS THROUGH THE GATE AND TRAVEL WEST FOR 0.3 MILE TO THE STATION ON THE LEFT ABOUT 150 FEET SOUTH OF THE DIRT ROAD.

  • The orthometric height was scaled from a topographic map.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
