Not hard to find with the witness mark & pink flagging. Obviously used since 1981, although the NGS log not updated since then.

photoBeech Floatplane up the river a couple miles
Being a pilot myself, this gorgeously restored & modified Twin Beech 3NM got my attention. Although the plane was built in 1952, the floats were added later, probably in 1999 (based on my web research). I think the engines & props might be newer than original types also.

A closeup front view of the lovely Beech 3NM floatplane. I asked at the nearby restaurant about the plane & owner, but all they knew was that he flew in sometimes for a few days at a time. Must be nice....

Closeup sideview. I'd sure love to fly that baby! Or even go for a little ride....

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1996. The horizontal coordinates are valid at the epoch date displayed above. The epoch date for horizontal control is a decimal equivalence of Year/Month/Day.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
