Out hunting benchmarks with qbee37 today. Had to remove the top layer of mulch to find this one.

Out with RCKen picking up a few benchmarks on the way to the bicycle shop. Normally avoid benchmarks like the plague, but there's this challenge...

Took a minute to find as it had been covered by landscaping, but all is well. See Ken's logs for photos.

On our way to the movies to see Disney's Frozen. We had never looked for a benchmark before, so I picked this one that had been discovered fairly often. Found it right where described.

The Mountain Cat made the find at this location pretty fast. I never knew these Bench Marks and so many of them where so close to home.

TOcowboy and I went out on "Friday the 13th" to find some Bench Marks around our neighborhood. I found this one easily.

Found it early on a Tue. morning.

Many fond memories associated near this benchmark. Graduated in '76.

Yeah, this one is pretty easy to find. The light pole is even the proper number! If only they all were this easy.

A formal Recovery Report was filed on 20 May, 2004.

The pole actually has the correct ID number; many of them don't. This also shows the view looking north up Mountclef Blvd.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1995.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
