Learned today that a Benchmark can be a cupola on a building! Found FC1864 on First Presbyterian Church on the intersection of McCallie Avenue and Douglas Street, across the street from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Our first cupola benchmark.

Spotted while out geocaching with the family. Such a cool building, you can't miss it.

Found it on an overnight visit to the city.

On my GW7 trip.

Drove by this one hundreds of times, just found out it is a BM

Passed this bldg many times and went to elementry school nearby. Glad to see it's a BM.

I've seen it many times and never knew it was a benchmark.

Stealth Trip #12.

Been driving past this one my whole life but stopped to look again today!

Observed the cupola on the First Presbyterian Church, located at the west-southwest angle of the intersection of McCallie Ave and Douglas Street in Chattanooga (near the Univ Tenn Chattanooga campus).

This was an easy find. By the time we navigated all the one-way streets to get to the geocache nearby, we had seen this benchmark from just about every possible view other than from the sky. We didn't try to stop to take pictures or better coordinates for it. - TheStosh, Melinda 12/14/2003 1:15PM
