Mouse Jockey and I are on Day One of a nine-day geo-trip through New Mexico and Arizona with side trips into California, Mexico, and Texas. We left OKC this morning, hosted a lunch event in Amarillo, and are now racing towards Albuquerque in the hopes of getting in more caching today. It was dusk when we reached this mark but I was keen to find it and scrambled up the rocks as best a fat old dog could. It took a while but I finally located the disk. It is just a delight to be the first to log these. By now it was pretty dark so the odd color in the photos is due to the flash.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in December 1993.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
