Without realizing it Me & Bucky found the mark before we did.

The original NGS datasheet says the "setting: 17=set into top of pipe driven into ground". Marker is Z=see description.

The description does Not say what is set into the top of the pipe only where the pipe is located. All the measurements are accurate to get you to the pipe.

We have decided that this is the unknown mark set at an unknown date and we have found something. Unknown just what we have found, but we found it!

Recovered in POOR condition since the pipe has been bent to the north (or maybe it was purposefully tilted?).

The RED arrow points to the stump mentioned in the description. The pipe described is between the 2 BLUE arrows. Looking to the southwest in this picture.

Did not find, but couldn't really look since it was on private property. Got to the edge of the right-of-way fence, which was approximately 27 feet from the station, and these are the coordinates which are given above.

Found the pile of lava rocks with the tree stump. Also saw a pipe at the approximate location of the benchmark description but did not see a cap.
