We found it!! and the NGS didn't!!! It is on the old road Past the road cut going West. On the left/South side of the old road. It is indeed in the top of a boulder on the south side of the dry wash.

The description says it is at the north end of the cut, but it is actually west of the afore mentioned cut.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 17.8 MI W FROM CAMERON. ABOUT 17.8 MILES WEST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 64 FROM CAMERON, COCONINO COUNTY, ABOUT 100 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH END OF A SMALL CUT, 32 FEET SOUTH OF A 2-FOOT GALVANIZED-IRON CULVERT, 42 FEET SOUTH OF A SMALL DRY WASH, AT AN OUTCROP ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE WASH, 52 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND IN THE TOP OF A LARGE SANDSTONE BOULDER. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED N 62 1934.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in 1992. * This is a POSTED BENCH MARK height. Code A indicates a distribution rate of 0.0 thru 1.0 mm/km.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
