Recovered in good condition. Don't know about pole #64. It looks like they have some big beavers nearby or someone who was just trying out a new axe.

I took a picture of this one so I could look for any info and not have to remember anything. I deleted the file.. I took me all week to figure out All I needed to do was click the nearby benchmarks button. No trains But it was rainy when we found this bench mark.

During our holidays in the states, we could not resist visiting this place.

My first benchmark! Found, as did most others, looking for the Witness Post geocache.

Benchmark C 385 recovered as described, in good condition.

3 trains went by in the 15 minutes that I was here.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
