Drill Hole T 140 was recovered in good condition. This mark is approximatley 1.07 mile southeast of the location of Drill Hole T 139.

This drill hole was marked by a metal pole guyed tightly by 4 wires, which was directly over the drill hole. The hole is approximately 1/2 inch deep, and had filled with soil which needed to be cleaned out.

There was also a small cairn at the site, and a wooden pole 2 inch x 2 inch x 10 foot was on the ground next to the mark.

One of several drill holes found today while out with the 2oldfarts.

Recovered in good condition. The rod over the drill hole was even anchored tightly in place. We had to clean the "droppings" from around the drill hole before we could find it.

One of several drill holes we had the pleasure of finding while in the company of Me & Bucky.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1996. The horizontal coordinates are valid at the epoch date displayed above. The epoch date for horizontal control is a decimal equivalence of Year/Month/Day.
  • The orthometric height was scaled from a topographic map.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
