For some reason I didn't see the fiberglass witness post very easily. Thanks to the old photos I surmised where it was and then realized that was an orange witness post. A little shoveling and the mark was found as well as the base of the old telephone pole from past photos. The mark was pretty muddy so I did not get a good photo up close.

This is looking east with the railroad tracks behind the photographer. You can see that white car on the left is moving on Highway 1 and my Ridgeline is parked by the mailboxes in a dirt lot. You can see the cut off telephone pole to the left of the mark hole and the mark hole to the left of the witness post.

The view looking north along the railroad tracks from the other side of the chain and no trespassing signs.

Found today, along with two others. Had to dig alittle to find.
GOOD HUNTING!

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
