Found at N35 39.332 W120 22.643. The top of the pipe cap is now ~six inches below ground and below the level of the highway (Centre St/Shandon Rd/Hwy 41 ..Shandon, Ca). The distance and bearing from the fence corner seems to be correct - I didn't have a tape with me but I used this measurement to start the search and it put me very close. There is a circular grate over an opening to a pipe culvert the station mark is ~4-1/2 feet west of the nearest edge of this grate. The only thing readable on the pipe cap besides the cross marking the center is the number 80 on the edge.
