DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 (CIA) STATION IS LOCATED ON TOP OF A LONG LOW RIDGE, ABOUT 1 MILE S AND 1 MILE W OF THE TOWN OF CLAREMORE. IT IS ON THE N END OF THE RIDGE ABOUT 30 FEET S OF WHERE THE RIDGE BREAKS AND SLOPES DOWNWARD IN A NORTHERLY DIRECTION. SURFACE, UNDERGROUND, REFERENCE MARKS NOS. 1 AND 2 AND AZIMUTH MARK ARE STANDARD BRONZE DISKS SET IN CONCRETE. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS SE OF STATION ON THE E SLOPE JUST BELOW WHERE RIDGE BREAKS TO THE EASTWARD. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS S OF THE STATION AND SLIGHTLY TO THE WESTWARD OF THE APPROXIMATE CENTER LINE OF THE RIDGE, ON A GENTLE SLOPE. AZIMUTH MARK IS ABOUT 0.75 MILE W BY N OF STATION. TO REACH THE AZIMUTH MARK FROM THE STATION, GO BACK TO THE POINT WHERE STATE HIGHWAY 20 TURNS TO THE RIGHT. CONTINUE ON TOWARD CLAREMORE ABOUT 150 FEET BEYOND THE CURVE. THE MARK IS W OF STATE HIGHWAY 20 AT THIS POINT. IT IS 4.3 FEET W OF THE FENCE LINE AND 33.0 FEET W OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD. TO REACH STATION FROM CLAREMORE AT THE FRISCO RAILROAD DEPOT, GO NW TOWARD THE OKLAHOMA MILITARY ACADEMY 0.65 MILE. THEN TAKE THE LEFT FORK INTO STATE HIGHWAY 20. FOLLOW STATE HIGHWAY 20 FOR 0.85 MILE AND CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD WHERE STATE HIGHWAY 20 TURNS RIGHT. GO 0.01 MILE AND TURN LEFT. GO 0.15 MILE AND TURN RIGHT, JUST AFTER CROSSING SMALL CULVERT. GO 0.15 MILE TO MR. STANLEYS HOUSE. CONTINUE ON 0.1 MILE TO GATE BETWEEN TWO TREES AT S END OF GARDEN. PASS THROUGH GATE, BEAR RIGHT, GO ABOUT 100 YARDS AND BEAR LEFT UPHILL. RECOVERY NOTE BY SEISMOGRAPH SERVICE CORPORATION 1955 (SMR) REFERENCE MARK 1 WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION AS DESCRIBED. STATION AND REFERENCE MARK 2 WERE NOT RECOVERED. NO SEARCH WAS MADE FOR UNDERGROUND MARK. AZIMUTH MARK WAS NOT VISITED.
01/01/1961 by CGS (GOOD)
RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1961 (FAR) A HOUSE HAS BEEN BUILT JUST SOUTH OF THE STATION AND THE STATION MARK WAS RECOVERED 16.4 FEET WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE HOUSE, 12.1 FEET EAST-NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE HOUSE, 5.7 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH SIDE OF THE HOUSE AND IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND. THE REFERENCE MARKS WERE NOT VISABLE FROM THE STATION DUE TO THE HOUSE BEING BUILT ON LINE. THESE MARKS WERE RESET AND RESTAMPED. THE AZIMUTH MARK HAD BEEN DESTROYED SO A NEW AZIMUTH MARK WAS ESTABLISHED. R.M. NO. 3 IS 67.71 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE STATION. IT IS JUST BELOW GROUND LEVEL AND IS STAMPED CLAREMORE NO 3 1934. R.M. NO. 4 IS 62.85 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE STATION AND 3.5 FEET SOUTH OF A POWERLINE POLE. IT IS JUST BELOW THE GROUND LEVEL AND THE DISK IS STAMPED CLAREMORE NO 4 1934. THE AZIMUTH MARK IS AT THE SOUTH SIDE OF A TRIANGLE FORMED BY THE HIGHWAY AND SIDE ROADS, MIDWAY BETWEEN THE WEST TWO OF THREE LARGE POWERLINE POLES AND ABOUT 5 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF A SMALL IRON FENCE SURROUNDING A GAS GAGE. THE MARK PROJECTS ABOUT 4 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED CLAREMORE 1934 RESET 1961. Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in November 1994.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
