We recovered RIM in good condition. We found RM2 as well, but could not find RM1. There are no directions for the RMs on the datasheet only that RM1 is a bolt and washer in the rock and RM2 is a standard RM disk set in stone. We walked in circles around the station disk. We started at about 45 feet away from the station marker and then increased the circle to 65 feet. After finding nothing at that range we moved out to 90 feet and did a circle then moved out to 140 feet for the final circle.

We recovered RM2 in good condition at about 50 feet to the SW from the station at N36° 28.927' & W111° 49.822'.

To get to the station turn off Hwy 89 at 36° 23.508' & 111° 31.547' and set your trip odometer to zero at the cattleguard. From here go 16.9 miles to 36° 27.340' & 111° 47.114' and take the left fork. Go 2.4 miles to 36° 29.049' & 111° 48.442' and take the left fork here. Go .6 mile to 36° 29.223' & 111° 49.114' and take the left fork for .9 mile to the station on the left.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in August 1993.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
