This is a stack/chimney and is not a water tank.

Found this while touring the Dam.

Searched the area but no sign of a water tank was found. No further finds possible on this benchmark, yet finds continue to be posted?

The Grand Canyon Power Plant was originally built as a coal-fired power plant but was converted to an electrical substation years ago at which point the stack was demolished.

found while at the grand canyon

Believe this stack has been destroyed.

Found while touring the Grand

There is no longer a grey smoke stack on this building. I spoke to an employee, and he did not recall there ever being one, so the building has obviously undergone some changes. He recommended talking to someone named Henry Karpinski (sp?) who works in an adjacent building, but we did not have time. In the photo, the red backpack is on the coordinates.

The photo was taken from the SW corner of the plant at the coordinates given above. The backpack, which is off to the extreme right near where JC is standing, is on the coordinates listed for the benchmark itself.
