Found on top of the dam!

Thanks!

While doing our roadtrip, I didn't think of the benchmarks. I found at least a cache a day, but about benchmarking I was just remembered as soon as I walked this dam. They are everywhere. So when I saw them I took z photo, and now I try to log them.

Since I was traveling from California to Utah alone today, I decided to add a number of hours to the trip and visit the dam. I enjoyed it and I was able to find a few geocaches and benchmarks along the way.

Mark is in great shape.

Touring the bridge and dam today and then using www.findbenchmarks.com to find a ton of marks on the dam. I wish I could have had a few more and I would have pulled off a really easy 25 BM day! Oh well.

This one is in decent shape and easy to identify unlike the other blank one I walked by to get here and have no idea which one that one is.

I was in Vegas for a long weekend and spent the morning at Hoover Dam, grabbing the new virtual and searching for benchmarks, before heading to the airport for my redeye home. I was here five years ago and noticed they are all over the place, so why not log them. Spotted this one in good shape.

This one is clearly stamped 'T135.' It is well described by the datasheet. The most useful descriptors are 15 feet from the Arizona side of dam on downstream sidewalk at the junction with the crosswalk.

On 8-4-12 I was married to the intelligent, gorgeous, phenomenally amazing woman known as theladybee! Shortly thereafter we set upon a honeymoon excursion across the western two thirds of our glorious country. We embarked from Columbus, Ohio and spent the next two weeks packing in as much beauty as we could. We would awaken around 8am, drive and explore all day and night until around midnight, find a hotel, go to sleep, and repeat it the next day. We journeyed through 20 states: Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. We marveled at 8 National Parks: Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Mesa Verde, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Badlands. We wondered at 2 National Monuments: Gateway Arch, Devils Tower. We got up close and personal with lynx, elk, rams, bear, prairie dogs, and other varmint. We paid homage to the original stash, the oldest remaining cache, HQ, and even got down at the Block Party. We targeted caches to help us qualify for challenges, to help us create challenges, challenges themselves, earth and virtual caches in the parks, and anything interesting we happened to come across. We drove 7,449 miles in total. The things that awed me, the sensations I experienced, I will remember them always, but they pale in comparison to the time I spent with the lady who is my life. The journey we took will stay with me forever. Thank you for placing a cache that constituted part of our journey.

Still there.
