20190203 1132p ; visit this bench mark after visiting geocache "Sign of Las Vegas"

Found while doing some geocaching while on a road trip/camping vacation with my family. Stopped on the way to all the VCs down the main road!

Found it while in Vegas from California. Trying to increase my benchmark numbers.

I was in Vegas for a long weekend and spotted this benchmark in great shape after grabbing the virtual at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Interesting history behind this sign too.

Out here a half. So much to do and see.

Mit Stage_Worm diesen Benchmark gesucht und gefunden.....

Heute bei einer großen Tour auch diesen Benchmark entdeckt !

Found this after our long flight from UK with spooky_luke and Cornish candy. This is our first benchmark although there are many in the UK and it is a popular hobby there, but sadly groundspeak won't add them. It's in good condition and easily found.

photoStompy and benchmark

Found in the company of Stompy&Stampy and spooky_luke only a few hours after arriving in USA after our flight from the UK. Easily found and in great condition. Thanks.

Wow - Our first ever Benchmark even though we have a very similar system in use in the UK. It was easy to find this one on such a distinctive and iconic structure. We visited within a couple of hours of arriving on a plane from the UK and before checking into our hotel...What does that say about our priorities? Anyway. Many thanks for drawing this feature to our attention. The flush bracket is in good order.

PumpkinEve and I just landed nearby and on the way to our lodgings drove by. Fortunately, I had known exactly where to look for this one.

PumpkinEve and I had just landed in Vegas when we came along this path. Naturally, we had to stop by for the benchmark and (a bit further down) the Vegas strip sign.

Another benchmark while staying in the US.

No problems with this one

Found it without problems

As stated by mtbikedirtygirl. We stopped to be sure to get at least one benchmark in Nevada. This is a good one to get and an easy find. So it adds to our list of benchmarks... No need for me to post photos, she done that for me...

I love Benchmarks. I just had to get Studzilla to stop and let Earlhop and I grab a picture of this Benchmark. It is in great shape. Hope it sticks around for a very long time. Benchmark #74

Caching with jo_botmn and jjjgirl2007 last find in Vegas.

Vegas trip with jjjgirl2007 and hobbes3791--39 cache finds, 4 benchmarks, and 3 National Parks in 4 states over 5 days. Sweet find saw the Oilers and Lord Stanley's Cup at the Welcome to Vegas sign with an Elvis impersonater. If that's not Vegas I don't know what is. A fitting end to a great and long weekend.

On a caching trip from MN with hobbes3791 and jo_botmn. Last find on our way home. Got to see the Edmonton Oilers with the Stanley Cup at the Vegas sign.

Easy find, especially for a local!

Went for a small walk at my first day in Vegas. Found this nice little benchmark.

Walked to the Welcome sign and decided to get this one while I was in the area. Watched the Helicopter traffic in the area. Great day for a long walk. According to a kiosk at the D gates in the airport this sign was originally at Nellis but when they reactivated Nellis for the war the sign was moved to the new location for McCarren.

Found this today while out with pilot husband. He enjoyed the history. Unfortunately, we went out without the camera. FWIW, my coordinates were a little bit different than those posted and those of DesertXplorers. N36 04.761 W115 10.321 There is some damage to the structure. I hope it gets repaired.

found it my first benchmark for me in nevada

Looked a bit but got it

Tricky but fun. My FIRST Benchmark. I'm so excited I just can't hide it. I think I'm about to ....well, you know the rest.

Out geocaching with my buddy Redirtwriter. Found this after reading the description and re-setting the GPS. Nice spot !!

It's still here. Although the 1949 recovery description states a marble plate reading Las Vegas it certainly appears to be small tiles rather than marble.

This benchmark is great. Who knew this entryway was this old, even though the date is right on the front of it? My coordinates were N36 04.759 W115 10.324. The description is too good and you'll find it easily.
