Spotted this water tower from the Amtrak train as we were passing through Hanford.

This tank has seen better days. It is all rusty and there looks to be a little graffiti on it as well, but it is still there and it's still a benchmark, yay! This one makes three of four benchmarks today.

Visited here with CarlottaP

Oaknest and I spotted this tall water tank while caching in the area.

Have driven past these water towers so many times over the years and didn't know one was a benchmark site.

Another easy find on my way home from work.

Digital photos available.

in a 2008 street-view both have started to be rusty .

Found it at 16:30, 31 Dec. 2002

Found it as described and in good condition. There can be confusion as there are two tanks in close proximity. The measurements shown in the description confirm it to be the taller, southerly tank.

Original coordinates (NAD83) off by about 50 feet when in WGS84 mode. WGS84 coordinates found at the base of the taller, southerly tank.

Keep on Caching!

The two tanks. The benchmark is the taller one in the distance.

I thought that this was an easy find but there are two water tanks in the same block. I had to read the description a little closer to figure out which one it was.

Okay I forgot there are two tanks downtown, which one is the benchmark?

Based on the description this is the right one, although it's not silver colored anymore and I don't think it had a cellular site on it when it was benchmarked.
