DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 6.8 MI W FROM WATSONVILLE JUNCTION. 6.8 MILES WEST ALONG THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD FROM THE CROSSING OF SALINAS ROAD AT WATSONVILLE JUNCTION, 0.5 MILE SOUTHEAST OF THE CROSSING OF SPRING VALLEY ROAD, 0.4 MILE NORTHWEST OF THE CROSSING OF BUENA VISTA DRIVE, AT THE CROSSING OF A PRIVATE ROAD, 11.8 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST RAIL, 34 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 69 FEET NORTHEAST AND ACROSS THE TRACK FROM THE CENTER LINE OF SAN ANDRES ROAD, 8 1/2 FEET SOUTH OF A TREE, 3.0 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A FENCE, 0.6 FOOT NORTHWEST OF A WITNESS POST, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.2 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in February 1993.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
