Found on my way to my parents for a mini-vacation. Have been to this park many times, but never realized that the benchmark was there.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1991 THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 17.70 KM (11.00 MI) NORTH-NORTHWEST FROM CHERRYVILLE, 12.87 KM (8.00 MI) SOUTHEAST FROM CUBA, 2.01 KM (1.25 MI) EAST-NORTHEAST FROM STEELVILLE, AT THE ENTRANCE INTO THE STEELVILLE COMMUNITY PARK AND RECREATION AREA, ON PROPERTY OF THE CITY OF STEELVILLE AND IN THE NORTHWEST 1/4, SEC35, T38N, R4W. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE CRAWFORD COUNTY COURTHOUSE, IN STEELVILLE, GO EAST ON STATE HIGHWAYS 8 AND 19 FOR 0.24 KM (0.15 MI) TO WHERE HIGHWAY 19 TURNS RIGHT AND SOUTH, AND HIGHWAY 8 CONTINUES AHEAD, EASTERLY.   • The horizontal coordinates were established by GPS observations and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in March 1998.
  • The orthometric height was determined by GPS observations and a high-resolution geoid model.
  • The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
